Shawn Selk practices alignment-based hatha yoga in the tradition of his mentor Fr. Joe Pereira’s Kripa Foundation Iyengar Yoga. Fierce attention is paid to the alignment of the body, aided by using props such as belts, blocks, blankets, chairs, etc., so as to practice safely and effectively as well as to align with one’s spirit and its purpose (dharma). In the words of Fr. Joe – “the practice is not just a workout but a work-in.”
