Annie’s favorite yoga class to teach is Partner Yoga, which she began teaching during her 200-Hour certification in 2018. She believes it is a beautiful way to connect with others and develop trust, non-verbal communication skills, and experience respectful human touch, which can help lower anxiety and decrease blood pressure.
Partner Yoga is held on the second Friday of each month and those interested are invited to bring a friend, life partner, or favorite teen (age 16+). Whether participants hope to share a unique date night, enjoy a non-competitive physical activity, or just connect more deeply, they will be encouraged to join in whatever ways they are comfortable. In each 90-minute practice we’ll take time to center and explore asanas (postures) for two including seated, standing, balancing, and basic Acro Yoga poses. No experience is necessary as long as one has the desire to try something new, be imperfect, and share the “lila” (laughter in Sanskrit). We accompany each class w/ relaxing music and close with relaxation or meditation. Yoga mats and props are always available or participants may bring their own.
