Born and raised in Senegal, West Africa, Patrice “Paté” Nassalang brings more than 3 decades of international dance experience to his work as a Lindy Hop and jazz dance educator and researcher. As an instructor and founder of Lindy Hop MKE, he teaches group classes, private lessons, performance teams, and choreographs routines for students of all experience levels.

Paté began dancing and choreographing traditional and international dances at the national level back in Senegal in 1995 before moving to the United States in 1997. He has performed with some of the world’s leading African dance companies and today teaches, performs, and competes in vernacular jazz and Lindy Hop at events across the United States, Canada, Dubai, and Africa, including the International Lindy Hop Championships (ILHC), Lindy Focus, and Uptown Swing.

His passion lies in researching the connections between traditional African dance and the Black American vernacular jazz dances that gave rise to Lindy Hop and other swing dances. Recognized as one of iLindy’s Top 10 Influencer Instructors in 2024, Paté brings the history of Lindy Hop to life through engaging performances, workshops, and educational programs. His goal is to help students build confidence while preserving the cultural traditions of Lindy Hop. With his infectious energy, Paté transforms every class into an experience that is educational and unforgettable.
