Lindy Hop is the original Swing Dance—an energetic, joyful partner dance that developed in the African American communities of Harlem, New York, during the 1920s and 1930s. Dancing to the big band sounds of the Swing Era, Lindy Hop combines rhythm, musicality, creativity, and connection, making it both a vibrant social dance and an expressive art form. It is the foundation from which many other swing dances, including East Coast Swing, Charleston, Balboa, and Shag evolved.
Classes are taught by Paté Nassalang and Lisa Black, founders of Lindy Hop MKE. Together they bring decades of teaching, performance, and historical knowledge to every lesson, sharing not only the movements of Lindy Hop but also the rich cultural heritage and traditions that make Swing Dance so special.
They offer Saturday group classes for dancers of all experience levels, from complete beginners to more experienced social dancers. Paté and Lisa provide private lessons, specialty workshops, and performance group tracks for students looking to deepen their skills or prepare for performances.
